Hi all
I’m looking for packaging alternatives to styrofoam and pvc… since those are the least eco-friendly. any suggestions (egg carton, abs, pet, polycarbonate maybe?). it’s for a lamp so i’ll need something durable… yet also inexpensive.

balls of paper or shredded paper?
or why not just some sort of outer box with some smart cuts and folds to hold everything inside in place?
ive also seen some pretty cool inflatable packers that are made from some recyclable PE or something. like big balloons.
it all depends i guess on how breakable your lamp is. is it just shipping protection you are looking for, or is there a need to protect something really fragile like a very thin glass shade? more info on the product (material, size, shape, etc.) would help.
