Designing, manufacture and sell 10 pair of something

Hi,

I’m a engineer student, doing my master in industrial design, and during this semester I’m doing a project course with the objectives:

Design something that fills a need
Manufacture 10 of this product
Sell them

As an engineer I would like to have a problem to solve, I’m not used to have to find the problem myself.
So were do I start?

I’m a bit fascinated of people making creative solutions to problems in there everyday life. Is there any website that you would recommend me to check out? I got no preferences regarding problem area or anything, I just need to find an interesting problem :slight_smile:

You would appear to be a contradiction; most engineering and design students lie awake at night mentally sifting through the myriad of world problems they want to address .

Are you familiar with the expression, “Necessity is the Mother of Invention” ?

Most “invention” springs from a need, and usually as a direct result of the “inventor” needing it. So the essence of your assignment is to recognize a need.
