The majority of the world population live in cities already, and this gap between city and country dwellers is predicted to grow. Particularly in developing nations, in which there’s less choice in the matter. It’s heading that way.
It’s difficult to compare yesterdays cities with tomorrows, the growth in population is insane. Everyone owning a car is not a smart solution to public transport, or a realistic one. But that’s another discussion altogether.
I wonder if a survey was taken today of whether people prefer to be the driver or the passenger, which would come out on top.
