2d to 3d pattern generator?

Does anyone else remember sometime in the past year I believe, there was a post on the main core page about a free online program that let you generate 2d patterns from 3d modelled shapes? I’m not sure but there may have been ‘bubble’ in the name or a hippo as one of the visuals on the website. I know this sounds really vague but if this rings a bell with anyone… please let me know!

google papercraft software, there are a couple of programs you can use.

I dont know if it will do what you want, but there is a program called Pepakura that creates paper die lines from models. Not easy to work with on complex models though.
