Winter Intern Recruit Strategy

My team is trying to hire student industrial design interns for the Winter semester, and we are having a hard time finding students who are able to take the semester off for an internship. I’m just wondering what strategies your design offices have to recruit design interns, especially when you are looking to fill a January - April position?

Have you reached out to UC? Are they still doing the one semester on/one semester off thing?

Our school always encouraged internships and made it possible to fit into the curriculum.
Students are going to search online so a vacancy page is helpful.
Word-of-mouth works less well in my experience, people forget these things unless they see a specific match.
Also check if schools have those pamphlet display boards, students use them a lot. If they don’t have one, check which ones they do use (apartment buildings/gym/library/public spaces/event locations etc.
