This nostalgia for the old Lotus Cortina reminded me of one of my forgotten dream cars - the elusive Lotus Carlton.
180mph and supercar acceleration from an everyday saloon car in 1990 was mind-bogglin' for us schoolkids back then. Relatively understated too , which is always a bonus for me.

Getting a little more ambitious here, if someone said I could have any car I wanted, andy one car, this would be a predictable, but good choice. It would really be a toss up between this and an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato in polished aluminum. Listen to that engine!

+1 for the gullwing. One of my faces. Perfect.

If you like that I got a good shot of a 190sl (convertible) to add to the cars in the hood thread coming up...

Fantastic vid Yo. The 300sl is so hot. I drove a 190sl 1955-ish once, fantastic. I firmly believe in taking care of your things, so it hurts me to see classics that are never driven ,and when they are they are babied. Machines decay when they are not used. Tangent: a friend has a 360 Modena and he rarely hits over 40mph, but thankfully I help him keep carbon buildup at bay  .
