The Design Science Lab, offered by the Buckminster Fuller Institute, involves international and inter-generational participants converging at the United Nations to learn the design science methodology, inspired by the work of Buckminster Fuller, and to problem solve and develop solutions to 4 of the UN’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Our facilitators bring expertise cultivated from over 35 years of experience working with the Design Science methodology, the legacy of Buckminster Fuller, and international renewable energy strategic planning. We will be exploring 4 main thematic areas within the context of the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals: ENERGY, the ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH and EDUCATION. Participants will develop strategies - both at the local and global level - to meet the goals set out by the Millennium Development campaign using known resources and existing technologies. The results of the 2006 DSL will be published in a book and distributed internationally, to UN agencies, NGO’s and other decision makers.

You can view a pdf of the 2005 DSL report (ISBN #: 978-1-4116-8350-1) by clicking here:
