You in ID in next 10 to 20 years?

How do you think your design “life” will look like in next ten to twenty years? What skills you think you will need in the future to stay in ID?

Work from home? Studio? Alone? Networking? Fluent in Chinese? Journey man designer? Work faster? Sleep less? …

hard to say…when cad first came on (20 years ago) it was thought that freehand drawing skills would no longer be needed…

networking will remain…computer translation software will make language issues moot…design will likely never be a certified profession (mba’s will not allow this)…most corp design studios will be profit centers (take in outside work as well) and/or most consultants will be owned by a corp…designers will have to be stronger in engineering, marketing and business…
