I’m a dsigner employed full time and I’m looking to do some freelance work on the side for extra cash and to build up my portfolio/design cred. Any suggestions on where to find this type of work, i.e. message boards, a certain freelancer site, word of mouth,etc…?

otherwise word of mouth is how i’ve been doing it… and since i’m in the nyc area i’ve looked through craigslist.com as well

Of course also feel free to build up a strong portfolio of work on spec, make teasers and mail them out to potential clients offereing your services.
