What would be considered an "adequate-sized" Desig

Here’s a math problem…

What would be considered an “adequate-sized” design group for product development for a 30 million/yr Design / manufacturing company? It’s goal is to produce 20% new products every year to add to the existing catalog?

Here’s a question…
Who knows how many designers Nike has on staff? …Motorola …Mattel …ext?

from my understanding, 30mil a year is peanuts in the corporate world…so you probably wont be needing nike’s or motorola’s size staff anytime soon. IDEO makes the most revenue in terms of ID firms and thats only 64 mil a year. Compare that to the billions that corporations make…

So I wouldnt go more than like 15 designers. Where i am interning right now we produce about 30 new products a year and there are about 12 designers, i dont know how many engineers.

ok i neglected to mention 12 in this office. there are about the same in another location…so about 20-30 designers total.
