what do you think about this?

Here’s a quote from the Princeton Review:

“Product designers are involved at every stage of product development today, and the future of product design looks stable. Jobs should increase at the same rate as jobs in all other manufacturing occupations. The market for consumer products is healthy and the rate of growth is steady. With the dawn of an increasingly global economy, product designers for overseas companies who want to sell their products in the United States may be in high demand.”

Is this an accurate assessment of the product design/industrial design field?Any differing opinions?

  • Product designers are involved at every stage of product development today, and the future of product design looks stable

agree

  • Jobs should increase at the same rate as jobs in all other manufacturing occupations

agree. but manufacturing in U.S. is dead

  • The market for consumer products is healthy and the rate of growth is steady.

no argument

  • With the dawn of an increasingly global economy, product designers for overseas companies who want to sell their products in the United States may be in high demand.

“may be”. dollar is dropping fast. maybe not for European products. way too expensive.
