urgent! illustrator help

Hi all
I have an image that I’ve been working on in both photoshop and Illustrator. I’m finished and need to save my image which is currently in Illustrator. After “saving for web” and using the highest resolution to save it as a jpg, it’s blurry. I lose a lot of the quality. Any ideas on how to save this as a jpg but keep the quality?

tons of thanks!

B,

Don’t save for web. Export it as a jpeg. When you export you will see more resolution options, make sure it is set for high, or do a custom dpi. This should fix your issue.

I’d advise to never save Rasters (bitmaps) out of a Vector program like Illustrator. Especially never when you have a bitmap placed in Illustrator.

Instead, import or copy-paste your illustrator items into Photoshop, where you can work in a WYSIWYG raster environment.

ROCK ON! YIPPEEE YO! THANKS, IT WORKED GREAT.

Glad it worked. The way CG suggests is great as well, though CS2 and 3 are much better at exporting. I usually just export now. Especially if I’ve just placed a jpeg rendering and dropped some text and cross section / construction details in the image.

Best.
