Tron Legacy

It only plays in small theatres, which makes it awesome. Google it (Moon showtimes) and it should show you theatres around your town.

I have to pop in and add that “Moon” is great - a super low budget with great effects AND a good plot. I heard that the movie cost some crazy low amount like 10 million or something, because all the special effects were done with small models. This guy did some cool stuff for that movie - http://www.gavinrothery.com/

Off topic chat finished…

The new Tron looks great - that movie was amazing when it came out!

Like everyone has mentioned before, I hope they don’t screw it up by letting an overpaid Hollywood director “fix” it… From the trailer, as long as the light bikes and some of the great scenes from the first film are shown again with todays effects, I think I’ll be happy

This will be the bee’s knee’s.

“Moon” finally opened at a local theater… going to check it out this week.

Went to see “Cold Souls” this weekend, a good little under the radar ID flick: iTunes Movie Trailers

I read moon was directed by David Bowie’s son… Its surprising there’s not more spacey Bowie music in there

Cold Souls looks good, Basterds and District 9 were awesome too

I probably should not admit this but I saw Transformers 2 last week. I saw it at a local theater because it got poor reviews, but wow was it bad. I mean really bad in so many ways. My girlfriend (who also wanted to see it) and I almost walked out early on, still not sure what made us stay. I’m all for mindless entertainment but this was horrible.

Haven’t seen to much else this summer, District 9 and The Hurt Locker are on the list. Going back a bit, UP was decent with a couple really good moments, but think Pixar could have done better. I guess Star Trek gets my vote for most entertaining so far.

There’s my random $.02.

Just saw moon… it was “good”, although i never said to myself “why would he/she do that” or “in real life that would not have happened that way” like i did in district 9 a couple times, which tends to bug me about movies, but at the same time there wasnt anything throughout the story that really caught me off guard or kept me guessing (other than the 1 major element of the plot, but i dont think that counts).

I liked district 9 more, but i think moon could have been better if it were more in depth or more details in the story?? im not a film critic so i dont want to take my own assumptions too seriously. It was a good watch, especially for only $4 a ticket.

and no more transformers bashing… unless you owned fortress maximus as a kid!

I saw Transformers #1 on a friends Blue-Ray recently and it was impressive (maybe just BR is general is impressive)… you can see so much detail on the robots

I really, really hate that Jared Leto is the lead because I think I need to see this if only for the production and sound design.

Yeah someone on Reddit wrote - it has Tron, NIN, and Gillian Anderson so the rest can be hot garbage + Leto and it won’t matter (too much).
