what is the toronto design/art scene like?
i know it is cold but if it super cool i would not mind living there.
Already discussed on Core if you look hard enough. “Design/art” scene is very broad term. If you mean “industrial design”, relative to NYC for instance, it’s a backwater but relative to other Canadian cities there are some excellent schools, exhibition venues, yearly shows (mostly interiors related) and a plethora of smaller shops/galleries dealing home deco stuff of varying tastes. Jobs-wise for designers, it sucks. Canada in general has a very poor track record in supporting and retaining its native creative talents. Most multicultural city in the world (!), relatively rich, and a great place to live overall but if you want a career in the arts or design, do your homework well.
