any thoughts on this subject, I am 43 an going to school for ID? is this to old to get into this now?
Go for it. Sure, 43 isn’t young - but it isn’t old either. In today’s world, people routinely have more than one career in a lifetime… Consider this:
Kandinski didn’t become a serious artist until he was nearly 40. He went on to produce prolifically, and was key to changing art and art history… The photographer Atget didn’t start until he was 40, but he’s in all the books…
…it will help a lot if you have a supporting background, but even at ground zero, don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it. Beware of age discrimination in the marketplace - it’s rampant. But good companies know quality, and at the end of the day, it’s all about quality.
Good luck, and give em hell.
i think the way to go is study ID and then set-up your own firm, that way you can use your previous experience and handle a small group of designers maybe?
