I hate it when people keep “updating” their Core portfolios just to be on the first page, like this guy.

Shows me that he’s doing all he can to get a job. He doesn’t care that you don’t want to see his portfolio again, you’re not hiring.

Coroflot would benefeit from writing some code to prevent the same portfolios from sitting on the top of the pile everyday-- it makes the array of portfolios look very UN-diverse. Maybe restrict refreshes to once a week unless image sizes differ (eg- the user posts new images). The user could still update their resume/etc in the mean time, but it wont affect their placement. Or alternatively, another way to keep from seeing the same few folios woul dbe to have more dynamic ways of entering the portfolio site-- maybe similar to the “Find Portfolios By Country” deal, but allowing for zooming in to regions, states & cities instead of only sorting by field (ID, GD, etc).
Why should it piss you off, he is mearly taking a proactive stance to increase his chances of being seen. Well if employers actually looked there.
Deal with it my friend…it is a dog eat dog world where you have to look out for your own A$$.
I would mind if he wasn’t good, but this isn’t the case.

I checked out the core-folio. Really nice work. I hope he gets a position really quick, because he deserves it. That Microsoft MP3 player is absolutely awesome. love the ear-buds. And both of his bags were very well done.

I like some of it but that table really drags the other stuff way down. The MS stuff is cool but how much is really his I wonder? If the table were better I wouldn’t even ask but it’s so lame looking I can’t help it.
I don’t think the complaint was about if his portfolio is “cool” or “good”-- it was about people refreshing their folio to the top multiple times in one day, and how it makes Coroflot’s vast array of portfolios seem very shallow.
He’s not only one doing it. Some are doing it alot but these folios show up tons lately.

8:20 – Shower (maybe)
8:30 – Smell those undies, yeah still fresh
8:40 – “I gotta have my Pops!”
8:50 - Update Corefolio, God only knows how many have updated in the last 35 min
9:00 – Off to work
9:17 – (Stuck in traffic) Hmmm, wonder if I could write a code to automatic update my Corefolio?
9:30 – Update Corefolio, Gotta beat out those PCT early risers
9:40 – Check email
9:55 – Update Corefolio, mtg till 11:30, this will be my last chance to update for a while
11:50 – That a-hole in marketing won’t shut up! Update Corefolio

This guy in my class, click on his own page all the time, ( backspace button + Enter )so within one month posted, he had 2000 views already, now he is reaching 5000! I used to get soooooo pissed because for two years, I’ve only got 4000… but really…
good work is what counts!
No one hiring cares about the number of views. Are people really stupid enough to believe they’ll get hired or even looked at closer because they have more views? It’s the work and only the work that will get an employer interested enough to contact you.
