Sony ownz your computer

The concept of “ownership” has always fascinated me. In the continuing saga of rights management, Sony has broken into computers and claimed their territory.

I know that iTunes and the iPod have some wacky rights management of their own. My question is, how much control are consumers willing to abandon to their corporate nannies?

This isn’t much different than the recent uproar over Blizzard’s videogame searching user’s PC’s. That Sony didn’t tell people (assuming they didn’t; I’m not entirely sure on this) is worse than hiding that fact under an avalanche of EULA legaleze like Blizzard does. But not much.

what was the deal with Blizzard searching the computer?
