Software suggestions?

Hi!
I would need some advice on a software to use for my work. I need to model flexible products with some embossing on it, something very close to a napkin unfolding. I heard that Alias is great to modelise and create animations of flexible objects. The problem I have is that the embossing pattern comes from Autocad (and even if I would love to use something else, I don’t have that liberty) so I need to be able to import these drawings into the 3D software.

Can Alias do that??

Otherwise, I am open to suggestions and would love to get advice from the Core77 gang…

thank you!!

You can use SolidWorks to import DXF / DWG files…so those AutoCad 2d drawings you have can be imported into Solidworks to create a 3d model…very simple…SolidWorks is pretty much trying to take the 2D user and make them crossover to 3D without hitting any snags… I would say SW is the best for this use right now.
