RISD vs. CMU / Class Size

Carnegie Mellon admits and graduates about 25 students per year in their ID department.

RISD’s class size per year is about 80. Is RISD’s program too big? Do students get enough personal attention?

Is CMU’s program too small? Not enough peers to learn from? Not “rich” enough?

Any insights would be appreciated.

When I was at RISD, there were between 60 in the sophomore ID class, they split it into 4 sections, each with its own set of instructors. It is likely to be similar, but you could email one of the professors in the program to find out for sure.
