Rip off of the Type-A pen / anyone spot this?

Sad story.

A great lesson for young entrepreneurs and designers.

Don’t lose trust in people. But be cautious. The right preventative measures could have stopped this before it started.

I have to find a report on this that I can read. The non-linear sceenshot based storytelling mode is hard to wrap my head around. Seems like there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Be careful who you get to “help” you, especially in China. Who knows what they promised or signed away to this agent. Anyway, even the supposed “knockoff” version is $120 for a couple of simple Chinese machined parts. They are both going to get knocked off a lot more, until you see these selling for $9.99 at the airport.

Well, I guess the downside with Kickstarter is that those with the bankroll and disregard for IP rights can just steal the projects on there…

Sure, but that’s not what happened here.

Love HI-TEC- C pens, the best-writing pen ever made! I’ve owned dozens of them. I agree, housing could be nicer, but I’m not complaining. If I lose one I buy another.

My only gripe is the HI-TEC-C feels out of balance if I don’t attach the cap on the other end when I’m writing with it.
