Quick Photoshop question - line tools!

Hi all

On another forum I found this nice picture - how do I create these black lines in Photoshop? Which is the tool and what are the settings? I have tried different ways but the lines don’t get smooth, nor “sketchy”.

Help anyone?
Thanks!

You won’t easily be able to get lines like this unless you use a wacom tablet. The pressure sensitivity of the tablet allows the lines to be sketchy. In order to do it with the mouse would take a lot of effort where it would make much more sense to draw it on paper, scan it, and then color it.

Try using the pen tool. Though a little time consuming, it’s the best way to get line weight like that without a cintuiq. Here’s a demo I found on youtube. It doesn’t have audio, but if you follow along and play around with it awhile, you should be able to figure it out.

yes, these are wacom lines ( pressure sensitive)

But you can simulate them in photoshop.
Use path for these lines.
Select stroke option with desired size of brush.
on the top right side in photoshop there is Brush preset.
Select brush tip option - shape dynamics… & stroke the path…

may not be as good as intuitional wacom strokes…

It actually works out quite alright, although a little time consuming. Probably the wacom board is the way to go…

I think the boat sketch is Sketchbook Pro, not PS.

For sure…
