photoshop question

greetings corofloaters,

i have a small problem with photoshop. it’s to do with resizing my portfolio prints so they fit on the web. when i create a new photoshop document, it’s 8.5 x 11" @ 300dpi or 2550 x 3300 pixels : this is for print. now i want to convert this print for web : i go to image size and make it 72 dpi ==> this reduces the pixel size to 612 x 792 which is fine but the document is still 8.5 x 11". my question is can i reduce the document size too (while keeping the 612 x 792 pixels at 72 dpi) since this 8.5 x 11 makes the file size way too big for the web. i have tried various permutations of resample image, constrain proportions and imageready with no success yet…

any help is much appreciated

Try this: Resize hieght and width first with resample box unchecked. click ok. Then go back resize the resolution with the resample box checked. I think this will get what you want.

thank u lauren, it worked !
