NVQ Management worth it?

I’m currently undertaking a NVQ Level 4 in management as part of a government scheme. Trouble is I’m not overly interested in it. I feel it wont be to beneficial to me in trying to get positions as a product designer. I would rather use the time to sharpen up my design skills.

I already have a degree in product design and feel allot of jobs are judged on the basis of your portfolio and industry experience, rather than extra qualifications. (Unless they are suited to the role). Just to help, a NVQ is equivalent to an A-level (college level)

In the end do you feel that management qualifications help to get job in the design industry?
