yessir ; havent left that dream ; i have applied to coventry; ccs and cincinnatis undergrad ; have not got any replies from them yet ; NCSU was the only one i have so thought ill get some advice from the experts…
It’s pretty good, I looked at it this fall. nice big campus in a medium sized city. I heard design intelligence (magazine) ranks it as the 10th best MID program in the US.
I think it would be a great fit for you as they take in non ID people and give them a fondations year.
If you establish residency in the state, ie. get a license, aren’t a dependent of your parents, register to vote, etc., NC State is very good about letting you get in-state tuition in the third semester (or after one year of in-state residency, but you will need documentation to back it up). Not many schools will do that. Once you’re in-state, tuition is around $2,000 a semester (probably a little less). They have a Korean professor there by the name of Bong Il Jin who has a ton of experience in transportation (he worked at Daiwoo and Hyundai, if memory serves). If you are into Transportation, he’s one of the best professors there and you will want to latch onto him early on. You can also speak to me back-channel about any particulars of the program (I graduated in May).
International students aren’t likely to get in-state tuition rates, but 2nd year grads are typically expected to do enough teaching/research to justify a tuition waiver and stipend. It’s pretty hefty loans, but car designers start at like $60K…
…I didn’t know our friend was from outside the USA. That’s a good point: I would also doubt you could quailify for residency. Please strike my last comment, your honor! I could put the poster in touch with some fellow graduates who were not US Natives, if need be…
That would be pretty useful…gaygaruda …yes i am an international student and i would very much like to do cars…but product design would also be a good prospect and i dont know kinda confused…
