The 3D companies in the Metaverse consortium like Autodesk are ALL polygons and Nurbs software vendors.
So in terms of the actual 3D design/modeling techniques used the Metaverse probably won’t change much initially.
What will change the most will likely be that they port their software to ru in a VR-like immersive 3D space.
So instead of seeing stuff in a OpenGL viewport, you’ll be standing around it or walking around it in VR.

Anyone remember 3D TV’s? A few years ago you couldn’t walk into an electronics store (most of which have also gone by the wayside) without bumping into a 3D TV demo display.
