Hi,

Can anyone list the different ways metal can be finished?
Is there anything like a standard Mold-Tech sample book but for metal that shows things like brushed, etc.?

I am intersted in lightly dulling a sheet metal part making it bright but not reflective like a mirror.

Here’s some descriptions of “standard” metal finishes.

Of course they’re very dependent on the person doing the work as there is not an exact grit/pressure/duration for many of them. It’s a craft (sort of…)

If you’re looking at getting something done, ask for samples of their finishes then they’ll have an easier time replicating that.
