Scotty, totally.
Scotty, totally.
didn’t u really get the proper conclusion producing or even just pasting that crap with T-Shirt in the last post… ? pathetic
that one is so bad as the 2012 and use similar characteristics
just wack but it might have some 80’s elements as one dude said… colours mainly I’d say
Poor you - just try to scribble that character with some taste… heh. The effect might be better. The text covers the face of the character, that is good in a way because it is just sketched with no skill. I am pasting that graffs and urf stuff as a proof for all, not only for you miss wack designer .
Here is the evidence of colour scale out from 80’s used in surfing design blehhhh uglyy
Is that really the right choice for olympic games logo…
I’d rather look at that surf board than the logo.
i dont think its gonna scale well at all, imagine scaling it down really small i.e using it as an ID for official merchandise, the london and olympic rings will be unreadable. I dont think its going to age well either it is very current (and its not a current trend i personally like so i guess im biased) but imagine it in 5 years.
As for it being “graffiti” i think that might upset a fair few writers out there!
I think it would be really interesting to hear the reasoning behind why this logo was chosen.
Did anyone see the logo that was used for the bid? i thought it was beautiful, nice clean and simple, it had the colours of the rings flowing as ribbons in the shape of the thames
according to last post :
"“Did anyone see the logo that was used for the bid?”
Could u possibly paste it down here…? I’d like to see what u mean…
I like that one because there is no logo in this logo.

just googled it
Dude, next time I ll bust out some charcoal from foundation year and do a kind of drawing you’re accustomed to…with some floating letters in perspective and stuff…geez. Maybe then you would be able to concoct a reply that doesn’t use a put-down based on my gender as the last resort.
That surfboard is so not 80s. It’s mid 90’s envisioned by Barbie.
The logo won’t always be those colors. It was an unfortunate choice to show it in yellow and pink. It can be and will be in multitudes of color/pattern combos.
The ribbon logo is pretty, inoffensive, and somewhat predictable. Yes, we def. wouldn’t be having a discussion about that one. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have known what it looked like until 2011.
Now we’re down to discussing what is our personal preference and does it fit our aesthetic sensibilities. You can’t argue with the technical and functional aspects ( they work…btw it will scale splendidly in black and white ) you either think it’s ugly or you don’t.
I gave you examples of how that won’t work according to technical and functional aspects.
The 80’s colour scale was trendy in surfing stuff much longer than at snowboards like hooger booger or old nidecker but I had that. It is still being promoted by some of companies like some o.neill collections.
Separately somewhere else we might compare the drawing abilities… because you have got theory background which to me and not only to me as u can see here, seems just wrong. cheers
Just one question, do you hate or disrespect street art?
Because I disrespect wrong arrangments of its character elements especially according to something that is being shown to the whole world…
If u know any average writer just ask him please…
have fun but instead of photoshop easy stuff just try to be offensive in more tasty way than just presented…
I read that people will be encouraged to download the template and create custom fills and patterns. The way the logo will morph and change depending on what color and pattern is used does remind me of tags somewhat. I mean, it’s the same mark that never looks exactly the same but at the same time is recognizable as that specific mark at all times.
That is the only tie to “street art†I see. As far as I know, nobody on this forum so far supported your opinion that it is graffiti based.
hmmm… 1st - "
As for it being “graffiti” i think that might upset a fair few writers out there" that gives me the idea that maybe you need to feel like spray lines of writers-beginners works… Try dat’ sometime - its addictive. 2nd - new kids on the block was using fake street art scenography on videos mainly - fuckaz’… I wonder why didn’t u reply any word according to compare stuff… Your last post gives me some hope that it will be improved during olympics. In a way I like that idea… But still putting even the greatest pattern and colours won’t make this the revolutionary and logo to be remembered… Try other forums on dat’ subject…
havent botthered to read the disscusion, but the logo looks like Lisa Simpson giving head, nuff said
and a quick google shows the following unfortunate logos

but may favorite is this
