Be strong Little Monsters! While at the online store, be sure to pick up a recommended “Webstore exclusive white t-shirt with “raise a glass to mend all the broken hearts of all my wrecked up friends - lady gaga” printed on front in red with pink water glass stains” and a “Lady Gaga I’m Free Bitch White Tee”.

Sensitive, humanitarian, and putting those designer skills to use.

The white “We Pray for Japan” wristband sells for $5 online, but customers can add an additional donation, which goes directly to the Japanese people.

Considering the damned thing probably costs all of $.15US, I have to ask myself, where does the other $4.85 go?

Wow…that’s awesome. I’m sure this will be as successful as all those donations to Haiti.

I’d probably add quotation marks around “Designs”.

Reading that last part as sarcastic, Haiti is a third world country run by questionable politicians, with little to no infrastructure to successfully manage a disaster. It also has no industry which would have financial incentive to cleanup after a major disaster.

If those economy classes taught us anything, it’s that Japans industry will have a massive incentive to get things cleaned up as much as possible in as short a period of time, because without it their businesses are at stake.

With all that said, no amount of wristband donations is going to cure cancer or stop a nuclear meltdown…so at that point all you can do is pray and hope for the best.

+1

And donate as much money as you feel appropriate to agencies that will insure the money gets to the people that need it. A bracelet on a pop stars website does not seem like the most efficient way. That being said, apparently 250,000 dollars was “raised” in 48 hours, this no doubt mobilized a section of the public that might not have otherwise donated. After reading that I had to temper my view. It always troubles me to a small degree when multi-millionaire pop stars donate time to have their fans raise money.

Absolutely. The title here is the Time magazine title verbatim. Speaking of the “design”, the claw red fingernail hand? The Gaga hand is the tsunami? What the f**k is that about?

That bothers me too, more than a little. How about I design some useless piece of crap, she can buy it for $250k, and I’ll give all the money to charity. Seems far more sensible to do it that way.

+1 for Scott. Hahaha!

I almost feel guilty…my god I’m cynical…

Yeah - celebrities will donate 15 minutes of time to sit on air and sing about why YOU need to donate money but you don’t hear too often about what they’ve done.

We need Paul Newman back… :frowning:

+1 to Scott, and +1 to Cyberdemon.

We do certainly need Paul Newman. He wouldn’t stand for this crap.
