Kickstart?

I am looking to bring a product into production and need for the most part the advertisement the site gives the product.
Kickstarter.com only offers there service to US and I am in Canada.
Quirky.com seems like they take a fair percentage of your profit.

I thought there was another website out there where people basically pre-order the object and if there are enough pre- orders the product will go into production?? Was this at one point quirky??
If anyone knows of any more websites like these please let me know

Quirky doesn’t work like that. It’s more of an idea submission site that aggregates social interest for ideas. Anyone and everyone can contribute to the development of the products, which are supervised internally by Quirky’s own Industrial Designers (yes they have some on staff).

I only know of Kickstarter.
