I too am looking for a GD in Chicago. There are a few places on line (listed below) but that isn’t the best way to find one. Its all about networking or cold calling.
Join the AIGA or at least go to some of the events (chicago chapter site: http://www.aigachicago.org/) There are a few other organizations I’ll list too.
I’m saying I don’t respond to on line postings but I have yet to get an interview out of one (even when I do follow up with a phone call.) I have actually had better response posting my portfolio on coroflot.
JOB SITES:
Chicago Jobs
Job site through the Chicago Sun Times (Chicagoland area listings)
http://www.chicagojobs.com/
Chicago Tribune Jobs
While your there look at Carol Kleiman’s articles about employment
Craigslist [Chicago]
Craigslist is a national (with regional) online classifieds. National list here: www.craigslist.org
Employers In Chicago Who Are HIring
“Links To Employers In Chicago That Post Jobs On Their Website.” and a whole lot more stuff but not dedicated to design jobs.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS (just a few):
AIGA
American Institute of Graphic Artists’ national site. You can only check out their jobs if you are a member.
Chicago chapter’s website
Graphic Artisit Guild
Society of Typographic Arts (Chicagoland)
“The mission of the New STA is to engage members of the Chicagoland design community in an ongoing professional conversation; to support selected design-related events and projects; to provide opportunities for fellowship; to encourage the involvement …”
When my wife (Chicago-based graphic designer) hired, she only posted it on Creative Hotlist (http://www.creativehotlist.com/)
She was flooded with resumes in 2 days, so I’d say it worked.
