WOW!!

I’d say $600, but that’s certainly open to discussion.

What were your rendering times? How much time did you log with modelling/texturing/lighting?

That plays a big factor as well. If you price yourself high, some guy with a kick ass, inexpensive render farm could undercut your costs.

I worked about 4 to 8 days on each Rendering.

Rendering Time 1st Image=7.20 hrs
Rendering Time 2nd= 9 hrs
Rendering Time 3rd= 6.30 hrs

Guyz Rates :unamused: ?
My Website

i don’t charge same rate for final render. higher rates go to set up. the final renders often runs overnight so my fee drops. but tbh there are Asian firms that do this low-cost. $600-1000 sounds about right. even for that set up time.

tell them $40-$60 an hour and give them an estimated time of completion (in # of hours). don’t worry about asian firms. if someone wants to make those kind of arrangements, let them. your fee is not going to make the pivotal difference. see if you get responses with this kind of hourly rate, and if not, negotiate your fees. feel the situation out.

those hyper-realistic renderings are usually wanted by the companies with large and literal corporate clients. and contracts with those kinds of clients usually require the client to pay for presentation models and presentation renderings, so don’t be apologetic about your fees. the company is just going to pass the bill on to the client. shit takes time and if they could do it themselves, they wouldnt be asking you.

Hyper-realistic design deserves hyper-realistic rates!

I charge $75/hour for anything using GI.

Well, I am also from India and running this small firm of mine since 2000. Though I had done lot of good projects in India and abroad, it’s hard to find Regular clients. I am sick of giving budgets…Usually my rates are Higher than the firms out here in India offers as they bulk outsourcing, but certainly quality is better…duno watt to do…!!

As far as the India thing goes, clients you approach don’t have to know where you are or where you are from. If they are outsourcing, then they probably don’t need to meet with you in person and everything can be done over the internet…email attachments, ftp sites, etc. So just don’t list your address if you feel it disadvantages you. Skill is skill. When I work with renderers in California (I’m in NYC), I never see them and they could just as well be in China for all I care. If I was a cheapo hoping to exploit people, I might only look at geography.

If a client goes to India for the next-to-freebie and you know this about a particular client, you can either avoid that kind of client, or make your rates more competitive to your Indian colleagues.

I think you need to pursue clients yourself. Don’t wait for them to come to you. Send out info about your firm, skills and services.

I will send you some work …liked your rendering.
