We’re in the same boat. Once the car market comes back to Earth, I’ll be making a change.
Saw one of these in the parking lot the other day and it made me do a double take. I always loved the passenger versions of cargo vans. My dad had a cargo van for most of my childhood, so maybe I’m just nostalgic.
you’re not the only one. i love the practicality & functionality of those vans
I saw one of these Kia Carnivals (that name… ugh) on the street today, it looks quite nice in person.
Yeah there’s one by my house (the ‘burbs’) that I sneak a peek at when walking by in the afternoons. Same color as this pic.
Wish it could have 5% less boxy-ness. There’s something subtly novel about the proportions though. Doesn’t go for the typical mini-van conventions and includes more SUV-like muscle in the fenders and door. The rear end is what bugs me I think…needs a bit more faux diffuser or a higher departure angle, but this is just for looks and not considering packaging. The lights are the overly mechanical boxy flavor I think. Looks super useful though. Agree terrible name.
So much to love and hate in this offering from KIA. Would love to hear the rationale behind these front ends.
KIA PV-5 EV in NYC taxi livery! They have said if this van is definitely coming to the US, but hopefully the NYC taxi shows that it might still be on the table:
