High School Panel Event: What Do Designers Do?

Call for Designers . . .

Urban Assembly School of Music and Art will be hosting a special panel event for our 9th grade students entitled “What Do Designers Do?.”

Friday, January 20th,12:30-1:30pm
The event will expose students to the varying career opportunities of design and the ways in which design impacts their daily lives.

We are calling for an additional 3 (product, fashion or graphic) designers to join the panels. We are particularly looking for designers of color and/or designers with work that relates to ‘urban youth culture.’ Each designer will do two 10 min presentations for a group of 40 students. Your presentation can include a short demo, slideshow, Powerpoint or discussion.

Please email mking@urbanassembly.org today for details regarding the event and information about our school; be sure to include a brief bio about yourself. We greatly appreciate your involvement and we look forward to sharing your passion for design with our students!

The panel event will take place at our school, located at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn, NY.

If you are not available on this date, but are interested in involving your design firm with one of our future programs or projects, please feel free to contact us.

You want us to speak even though your opinion of us puts us right in the middle of Do Do? I know we smell bad sometimes but you don’t have to advertise the fact in the title of you event.

Good luck with the show!
