I’m looking for multidisciplinary design studios that are involved with public spaces and public art. I’m interested in larger scale design projects that involve social interaction. Could involve landscape, sculptural, and product design.

I can’t seem to find any similar studios. I can’t really pinpoint the discipline of design I’m looking for. Well known consultancies like IDEO and Frog, also come to mind. It might be a bit particular, but if you guys have anything it would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe look for firms specializing in environmental design (as in physical environments, not ecodesign)? Or even exhibit design firms. I’d also look at architecture firms with a history of doing projects for the public sector. What you’re describing sounds closer to small-scale architecture than large-scale product design. Chicago has a lot of public space/art/sculpture, and as far as I know, those have been mostly done by either artists or architects.

That should cover about 90% of what you’re looking for.
