i have been in the graphic design industry for about four years now, and im getting out. i want to go back to school for industrial design. i have a few friends that went to school for ID and now work in the theme industry and yacht design.
im interested in getting into movie props/special effects. or something along the lines of theme park and museum exhibit design. not just desgining behind a computer, but getting my hands dirty and building cool ideas. i want to learn about model making, sculpting, etc.
i was wondering if anyone here had any input on this subject. i also want to know if a ID degree would help me. any input would be appreciated!!!
I know art center has a concept design specialization that gears you toward hollywood, but I’m not sure how much dirty hands model building is involved…
