On the topic of materials and technologies, does any one know the average cost of making cost of making an athletic shoe.
it really depends what kind of athletic shoe and what materials. As well, of course the quantity and location of manufacture make a difference.
I would say a safe range on average is anywhere from $12-20USD FOB factory cost for the a technical type running type shoe with various synthetic (mesh, PU) materials and a technical type rubber outsole with CM EVA midsole and some sort of TPU shank.
A leather football (soccer) type shoe in a premium leather (like goat skin or K-leather) could be a lot more, and a price point synthetic basic XT shoe could be less.
Is there a specific type of shoe/design you are thinking about?
