Finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up...

Hello everyone,
I am currently a recruiter and hate it. I am also an artist and musician who has recently developed a passion and interest in ID specifically furniture design. My question for anyone reading this is:

-What is the best Industrial Design software that I can buy for my PC and learn on my own that won’t break the bank?

I have looked into a few and Rhino/Flamingo/Penguin/Bongo package looks like a really good one, but it is super expensive. I would also love to learn more about helpful resources for Industrial Design self starters, if any.
Thanks,
T

Corel Draw is the best low-cost (~$200) 2D design substitute for Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This should be all you need to communicate your design ideas.

Scott Robertson has a great how-to on rendering 3D objects using Photoshop: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/sro06.html

But if you want 3D software, Google Sketchup is free.
Rhino is your next best-bet.
