What the hell is driving that MSRP? From the sedan’s description, it sounds like they are blowing their BOM on sensors and entertainment. They are truly marketing these cars for people who are afraid of driving and want to just… move in a safe little bubble.
”the car will be a relaxing, customizable comfort zone that happens to bring you places”
AND you can load-up artist’s interiors and lighting schemes which they will source and distribute via crypto-funded NFTs! Wow
I like the Kia, but since it is from Slovakia, I imagine we don’t get it in NA.
That Honda looks like they designed it ten years ago as a response to the Model S. So weird that no one has had the heart to kill it. Maybe the market will though!
@Mr-914 at $100+k I assume it will be DOA. Aint no one got time for that.
Someone asked on BlueSky asked why the Cadillac Celestiq isn’t selling more? It’s a $400k Cadillac EV. The amount of people that can afford a $400k EV is very small, and then a very small percentage of them would even entertain spending that on a Cadillac when that it is the same price as the Rolls Royce Specter EV. I know which one I would pick.
It’s funny when I see articles with headlines like “manufacturers pulling back from EVs” because that is a completely US centric POV. Global brands are doubling down. Any global brand pulling back is destined to become a mere regional player.
Its true though, isn’t it? Ford is taking a $19B hit against earnings because they thought people would keep buying their $75,000 e-truck amongst other e-things that they got wrong. Most people just want to go from point-A to point-B without all the “I can power my tools plus my house” baggage.
Guess you’ll have to learn Mandarin or German, and read the headlines from N China Daily, or Speigel, to find the global headlines! The USA itself is on its way to becoming a ‘mere regional player’.
Wasn’t it one of the Agnelli (Fiat) family that said there would only be 3 car companies one day? I’m starting to think that there will be one or two Chinese companies, one in EU and Hyundai in 10 years. The Big 3 will either be bought or closed.
