What the hell is driving that MSRP? From the sedan’s description, it sounds like they are blowing their BOM on sensors and entertainment. They are truly marketing these cars for people who are afraid of driving and want to just… move in a safe little bubble.

Someone asked on BlueSky asked why the Cadillac Celestiq isn’t selling more? It’s a $400k Cadillac EV. The amount of people that can afford a $400k EV is very small, and then a very small percentage of them would even entertain spending that on a Cadillac when that it is the same price as the Rolls Royce Specter EV. I know which one I would pick.

It’s funny when I see articles with headlines like “manufacturers pulling back from EVs” because that is a completely US centric POV. Global brands are doubling down. Any global brand pulling back is destined to become a mere regional player.
Its true though, isn’t it? Ford is taking a $19B hit against earnings because they thought people would keep buying their $75,000 e-truck amongst other e-things that they got wrong. Most people just want to go from point-A to point-B without all the “I can power my tools plus my house” baggage.

You are correct that an e-truck is not worth the premium price over a ic-truck. But if you think it is something other than that, you are incorrect.

Its marketing materials focus on the sporty EV’s tubular spaceframe chassis design that’s wrapped around a compact, 60 kWh (good for 500 km, or 310 miles of CLTC range), pushrod suspension system, and ultra light weight aluminum and magnesium wheels that weigh in at 5.9 kg (~13 lbs.) each.
The result is a car that, at 1,356 kg, weighs in at about 40 kg less than an ICE-powered Porsche Cayman GTS.
The design could use some work and the greasy bits remind me of how cars were built in the 70s, but I’d take one.

The SC01 is definitely a little rough and ready as they say on the Great British Baking Show, but there is basically nothing else like it currently, so sign me up too 
RE Jeep Recon, the Bronco would have been so much cooler if it was electric. using the Bronco design language to debut something with all the true off-road capability an EV gives you (instant torque at the low end, precise movement at each wheel) would have been awesome… otherwise to me it’s kind of like an obsolete Ford Raptor in Bronco cosplay 
But we will see how Jeep does with the Recon. I saw a lot of their Jeep Avenger EVs in Italy last year. Of course why would they send that to the US?
