Thanks for the link. Most interesting are the comments under the video on yt.
Seems the gentleman is overstaying his welcome time in some markets.
I try to stop in once a week, but it seems like the boards have hit a bit of a lull. Maybe people are busy reading up about something more important than design, though I can’t imagine what that could be!
Maybe it’s time to kill the discussion boards ???
And then what? I need a lonely design relic support group.
We should start another thread to talk about the good old days before TikTok and Instagram… :~(
In EV news, Chrysler idled the Charger EV factory in Canada, and it can’t be made anywhere else (for now). Now, Honda is postponing their plant in Ontario for at least two years. This is all to say, it looks like US and Canadian buyers will have less new EVs to talk about for a while :~(
I hope mo-i can keep us jealous with all the new European and Chinese-made EVs for sale in the EU…lucky guy!
Honda to postpone plans for EV plant in Canada for at least 2 years
Or use it more.
Wow, this looks like fun. Peugeot e-208 GTi. Those are some low profile tyres and the graphic on the wheel is bigger than I can remember seeing.
that does look good
I have a feeling it will be physically huge
This place feels like one that people will return to in decades (like we can still see posts from the long-ago C77 forums) and be like wowwwww what a gem. But yeah it’s in a bit of a rut.
I follow and comment on Reddit threads some, most everyone is a noob or student and basically anonymous.
I can’t remember when, but I feel like we discussed racing cars at some point (or sportscars?). Here is a close look at what is still limiting EVs on race tracks. It’s not all about the battery capacity!
I was just reading about the Twingo. Maybe a tad bit too sparse for me, but it sure looks cool. I hope we get some new models for North America soon!
I doubt we will be getting much thanks to dear leader. But this will be coming:
From Hyundai Canada:
We might get this one in NA … of course if Canada lifts the tariffs it’s a whole new day for you @Mr-914
Not especially attractive but they seem to be employing some design consistency, even if it defies aero conventions. Pure silhouette is rather challenged, and the kink in the hood is a strange choice. I bet it fits four adults better than a Golf though.
I already have my eyes on some Chinese models. BYD and IM / MG have some really cool looking cars. I think the Chinese have gone from bad to competitive in two generations of cars, which is an amazing feat.
Not too sure about the Kia, but I want to see it IRL. The ICE K4 reminds me of the last Civic in how it somehow looks great from one angle and a total mess from another.
This is what Buick should be making today.
Ironically the best selling gas powered Buick is mostly made in China with final assembly in South Korea before being shipped to the US … wild.
