Dodge Charger Paint

I was driving through traffic on the highway the other day and ended up creeping along side a Dodge Charger. The thing that caught my eye was the paint job. The only way I can describe it was it was a glossy matte. When I looked at it direcly (i.e. perpendicular to the side of the car) the paint looked matte. Even as though there was a light texture to the finish.

As the car pulled a head of me and I looked at it from an acute angle, there was most definitely a clear coat on the paint that gave it a high gloss finish.

It was a black paint and it was very cool looking up close.

Has anyone else seen this? I can only guess that it was fleck of some sort in the paint but I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the type of paint used.

I believe your talking about ‘Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl’

Ya, that’s the finish. It was friggin’ beautiful.

That photo doesn’t really do it justice. But you can start to see the texture in the finish where the highlight is between the front right headlamp and the grille.
