DIY wheat paste project

Hi everyone,

We just finished some wheat paste art. We created a DIY video.

Let us know what you think!

Hey Creative Pile,

Just checked out the video, and to be honest I’m not really sure what I was supposed to take away from it? I’m sure most of us made flour glue in grade school and used it to glue paper to something as well… I guess I was expecting something more, some sort of novel use or application, not just gluing a logo to plywood. Kudos for using an “eco” glue, but I’d like to see the idea pushed further.

Cool as a weekend diy hobbyist type of project but not really a design project in my eyes. Sorry to be harsh, just my 2c!

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, it’s a simple & easy DIY project that anyone can do. We’re not trying to create a masterpiece that will change the world, rather just having some fun and decided to share an inexpensive and unique way of presenting signage.

You need to keep your mind open to the possibilities with something like this. What you should take away from it, is the endless number of options here. We first design the artwork, then we can do anything to it… either stain it, paint it, or manipulate in in some other way to de unique, we then use the simple DIY video to finish the job. This simple technique can be used for a business who doesn’t want to spend money on typical and expensive signage. This could even be used for a coffee shop/bodega/bar that would like to display their menu in a unique way. Using wood as the backing medium gives it warmth and character. Just because our video showed you something simple, it doesn’t mean that there are no other options. We have been creating some new pieces that are more in depth and show what you can achieve with a little extra work. Stay tuned…

Sure totally get where you’re coming from, not trying to devalue the simplicity or potential.I think there could be some really cool applications, looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

You need to work that wheat paste into your viral street marketing campaign.

Yes we do!
