I second Yo on Metropolis, the sets are incredible for their time. I think Brazil, Blade Runner, Demolition man, Back to the Future and others on that list present a cool view of the yet-to-exist future.]
Flight of the navigator? Is that the name of the kid that flies the alien ship? Pretty cool design in that one.
Although Transformers I and II were ok for what they were, I cant imagine the nightmare the 3D modeling of the transformations must’ve been for the animators. And the the designers and engineers that had to make the toys work like the movie!
For animated movies, Renaissance was also pretty cool, animated in a different way. Paprika is one of my favorites due to its fantastical/freaky imagery and combination of 3D and traditional anime. The whole Ghost in the Shell series is pretty dope too.
