question for you: I am in search of decorative fasteners , like a 20mm head diameter allen key screw/bolt (M4), which I have seen being used by interior designers on hinges or glass hardware…
does this ring a bell…is there a place where interior designers go to to spec out hardware such as screws and fasteners (not the cheap home depot type) for furniture and high end furniture stuff ?

McMaster-Carr has a lot of interesting hardware, although it’s not really “decorative.” Here’s something like you’re describing:
Sometimes you just have to have stuff custom made though. It’s less expensive than most people think. I have little custom fittings made pretty often, usually average $2-5 each even in tiny quantities.
