I’m designer and as you know sometimes we got customers that takes our time but have no willing to pay for it.
I got idea - lets share cheaters to be protected in future.
I think that in some months we will have the huge list of cheaters and anyone who will join the groups would be able to check the customer before cooperation started.
I’m planning to post my black list on these groups today/tomorrow - just need to update contact info of cheaters
I hope it will be usable for all freelance designers/programmers.
I can relate to your situation. The solution to your problem is to charge your clients a service fee - from the very beginning. This way you aren’t wasting your time and being left feeling cheated.
I can also relate. I have done work for a start up firm in NJ (Concurrent ID) and spent 6 months with them. Every pay check was any were from was a week to a month late. I put up with it because I was new to the buisness and need to get some experiance. But if I could do it all over agian I wouldn’t. I was under paid (when I was paid) and it maid my life hell when it came times to pay bills.
My advice to new designers out there is watch out for this. If you have the feeling that it is going to be a bad situation don’t do it. you can just as easily find another oppertunity.
Okay you got me i am a horrible speller especially when I am at work and don’t have time to proof read my Core77 posts. I don’t think I’m the only one.
