how do u guys define “good” curves- like curves with sufficient tension, sufficient acceleration. any examples from products?
Well, I think there are many curve types that are beautiful in the right context. The New Beetle is composed entirely of happy circle arrangements (any orthographic view). For non-symmetrical compositions, I think the golden mean can be applied in many combinations. I think generally curves should begin accelerating around that 40% / 60% point to feel right, although it’s just a general rule.
Good question, I’ll pull up some examples. What are some of the the curves you are thinking of?
If it all possible, could someone post a link to the definitions of these things? Thank you.
