hey everyone,
I’ve always wondered about this, but never bothered to find out… so here it goes.
I just put together a website of my stuff for the first time, and like I’ve seen in all of the other sites, I put a fine line at the bottom stating that the materials are copyrighted and duplications of the contents are prohibitied.
do I actually need to do something to have a legal authority over my stuff or does it becoome valid by just stating that line?
I have put out music before as well, and did the same thing (just that line on the cd) is that different because that was through a label?

don’t you have to do something?

That’s all you got to do. Copyright is automatic.

The only additional protection you can get is hiring a lawyer
