Biomorphic Design

Hello everyone!

I’m just doing a little research for my dissertation and I came across someone (on the net) saying that Biomorphic Design creates a more dynamic relationship between the consumer and the product…

Does anyone know if this is even true, or just some dildo talking through his rear? If it is true, does anyone have any examples?

Cheers!

Dissertation = Phd. right? and your doing your research on the web?

Biomorphic = resembling living organism
Dynamic = vigorous and purposeful, active and changing

Yep, those two terms seem to fit.

But I think of “biomorphic design” as being behaviorally “symbiotic” with the user.

I would suggest:

Dynamic Behavior = Biomorphic, symbiotic
Dynamic Relationship = Geometric, causing friction

So yes, I think that guy is talking out his ass.

well that works out, the three of you can all speak the same language…

Biomorphic Design creates a more dynamic relationship between the consumer and the product…

Anything Bio - helps.

Some designer love jargon. Jargon is helpful in justifying thoughtless and meaningless design. Jargon helps to pump in some meaning - which they hope consumers will buy into. Often they guess well.

Biology on the other hand - is full of meaning. There is a lot of things we can learn from it. All things Bio (biologically designed) are wonderfully designed, better designed than what any human being can dream of.

Designers of course will disagree.
