Asics releases sneaker made from scraps from airbag manufacturing
Aren’t airbags made from airtight fabric?
How then do these shoes breathe?
I suppose you could put tiny perforations in the fabric?
Or market them as “weatherproof”?
Not sure airbags are airtight, will have to test them and see. I would assume the airbag has to initially hold air to inflate rapidly but then they seem to deflate, so maybe they are not airtight, just tightly woven enough to inflate.
I’m sure the thought about that before the developed the product though?
Coulda helped out Takata
Tens of millions of vehicles with Takata air bags are under recall. Long-term exposure to high heat and humidity can cause these air bags to explode when deployed. Such explosions have caused injuries and deaths.
