Raw,

Since this is not a true ID program, I would bet most have not heard of it since no one has posted thus far.

What is it that you are wanting from ID. are you just hopeing to have more creative freedom on the front end of the designs, rater than simply CADing up fairly finalized designs? Or are you simply hopeing to make a larger pay check?

ID is a very competitive field with only about 10-20% of its graduates finding work in the feild. Not only because of lack of positions, but more importantly lack of skill (scholls not properly screening), and lack of drive (passion to percervier and pursue it regardless of cost or time). However, there are jobs for those who want them, and deserve them, and if you are a good “Designer” not just a sketch money or cad jockey your pay will reflect it. I as well as most of my friends make a good to great living working on projects that we are proud of and enjoy.

Thanks for the info.

I am trying to get a good understanding of the industry. I just hear alot of people going to school for 4 years and not able to get any work or money. I am not in it for the money but would like to be able to buy a place to live. I am trying to decide if I am going to pursue this practice onthe side or take this on as a full time career.

I am thinking of job shadowing a ID person, anyone know of any in calgary.

Thanks again.
