sketchbook pro…each pg 1 hr
Your sketches are really emotional and lively. That’s important, so good job on that.
I would say that these are more renders and less sketches. A few of the forms read well, but most are too ambiguous for me to read the form easily. I can see your progress even from the first to the third page. The top right form on the second image and the helmet-type thing are nice. I would suggest doing more line work to flesh out and really define what the forms are, or continuing the rendering side until the lighting defines them better.
If you get an idea you like, you could tone down the opacity, and sketch multiple variations on top of that original layer. I find this helpful for me when trying to refine a form that I like.
Keep up the good work! I need to get some more Sketchbook practice in myself.
thanks, cameron. yeah, i wanted to concentrate on generating a few pages of them, just to get out any preconceived forms before really fleshing any of them out. I’ll probably try just what you said - turn down opacity and do several different line drawings to actually see what’s going on there…
I called 'em sketches b/c they didn’t take long, and are pretty ambiguous…
P.S.-that’s funny…they are in reverse order…
i did the first page last…meant for it to be 3rd in order so you see progression…
oh well…
I like the top right one on the first page the most, the form created from the black shapes and the person in the picture which gives it scale.
